“Mainly I am responsible for preparing products for shipment and getting them ready for pickup. I also perform occasional hydraulics work and deliver or pick up items with our own truck. That variety appeals to me. When people ask what we do, I always say that we make sure that when people stay on a superyacht the champagne stays in the glass and doesn’t slosh over the edge. That’s a little easier to understand than the technical story behind ship stabilization!

The camaraderie within the company is good because in most cases, we have worked together for many years. Through those years, we have learned how to help or support each other.

“Hoofdzakelijk ben ik verantwoordelijk voor het verzendklaar maken en het klaarzetten van producten die worden opgehaald. Ook verricht ik af en toe hydrauliekwerkzaamheden en breng ik met onze eigen vrachtauto spullen weg of haal ze op. Die afwisseling spreekt me aan. Als mensen vragen wat wij doen, zeg ik altijd dat wij ervoor zorgen dat als mensen op een superjacht verblijven de champagne in het glas blijft en niet over de rand klotst. Dat is wat makkelijker te begrijpen dan het technische verhaal achter scheepsstabilisatie, haha. De onderlinge sfeer binnen het bedrijf is goed en omdat de meesten hier al jarenlang werken, weten we wat we aan elkaar hebben.”
